Monsters

When I was a kid I used to be afraid of monsters. But I also liked those blue, furry, cuddly guys from Sesame Street. At Studio 3 I ask myself how this love for monsters effected an openly gay man's affection for bad guys, muscle-bears and machismo . . .

    Ich finde es interessant, dass du die Sesamstraßen-Figuren als Monster bezeichnest.
    Das wäre mir nie eingefallen.
    Andererseits habe ich aber auch keine andere Idee, wie man sie nennen könnte.
    Puppen?

    Hallo Wiebke,
    Ich spreche ja garnicht von allen Sesamstraße-Figuren sondern eben bloß von den Monstern in der Sesamstraße, die ich mit bösen Jungs vergleiche. Das sind Grobi, das Krümelmonster, Oskar in seiner Mülltonne, etc.

    Übrigens: In der afrikanischen Version der Sesamstraße gibt es sogar eine Puppe - in diesem Fall auch wieder ein Monster - das HIV-positiv ist. Ein wichtiges Thema vor allem in Afrika auch für Kinder, die oft schon mit HIV zur Welt kommen. Hier ein paar Infos zum Monster Kami:
